2026 Educator Fair: One-Stop-Shop hiring dozens of teachers for the upcoming school year

Ken Slats: Of course, that's the students at SCCPSS and teachers are the heartbeat of our system.

Dr. Michel Pantin: As we all know, teachers have the greatest impact on student achievement. And if we start early, we can finish early and be ready to hit the ground running. When the doors open.

Ken Slats:  Which is just a few months away for the 26-27 school year. Talent services recently held a one-stop-shop to fill upcoming teacher vacancies.

Vanessa Walthour: I loved how streamline the process was, how they had you register online and get pre-qualified online. And so that was awesome. So that all of the schools that are currently here know that when educators are coming into the building, they've already been screened.

Shannon Jetter: So we're looking for people who are innovative, who are creative, who think outside the box to make learning fun so that they can grasp the attention of our students and hold that attention.

Dr. Michel Pantin: the value of this is the face to face connections that, participants are able to have. They're able to sit down and reach and talk to our school leaders and make those connections, have interviews right here on the spot.

Ian Ball: it was nice to be able to walk in, bring my resume ready to talk to people who are ready to hire. And then I was thinking, okay, it might take a couple of weeks wait to hear from the district, the HR and everything and then find out, oh no. Like do it right now. That's, you know, really cool to just speed everything up, I love it.

Dr. Michel Pantin: Most people are already working professionals, so, you know, we've done this on a Saturday that hopefully works for their schedule, but they now don't have to take off another day of work to come in during the week to either interview with the principal or to complete their, you know, standard onboarding processes.
